This scholarship is given in memory of Coach John Harmison and his wife, Mercedes Harmison. Coach John Harmison taught at Osceola High School as the Electric Wiring teacher from 1970-1990. For nine years, he was the Kowboy's Varsity Baseball Coach and then transferred to St. Cloud High School as the Assistant Coach for the Bulldogs. His coaching career spanned throughout the Central Florida area for over forty years. His dedication as a coach and manager of various baseball/softball teams earned numerous District, State, and National Titles. Mercedes Harmison was a beloved teacher at St. Cloud Middle School where she taught music.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and community service to qualified Osceola County residents pursuing careers in a human health related field. All applicants must be a graduating high school senior. The student must be enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university. Selected applicants may be interviewed. Since its inception, our scholarship fund has helped many students in the health care profession fulfill their dreams. It is a joy to see recipients succeed and give back to their community. This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Father Jim Radebaugh. Father Jim Radebaugh's career started in 1961 taking him through a number of Central Florida churches. When Father Radebaugh got to preaching, those listening knew what they were going to get; a little bit of gospel, some old-fashioned common sense and a punch line that would stick with them. Father Radebaugh wasn't always a preacher. He grew up in his family's cattle-ranching business and rode bulls in rodeos. He gave up rodeo riding when his son, Lee, was born.

George Coffey served as head coach at Osceola High School for 26 seasons. During his 26 seasons, he built the Osceola High School softball program from the ground up, building a team that reached great heights. However, his greatest legacy is the personal impact he had on his players. He was a mentor in the truest sense of the word, providing encouragement, support and making sure his athletes were successful both on and off the field. Family and friends have established this scholarship in his loving memory. Tom was a natural leader who had a zest and passion for life who won over everyone he met. While in high school, he was Battalion Commander of the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) and a 4- time District swimming champion. He set many records for swimming, and was Harmony High School's first District Champion in any sport. Tom won all of his District swims and went to the State Championships for the 200 meter freestyle relay. It is with great honor and respect that we offer this scholarship on an annual basis to a deserving and qualified student.
